Smaak, Payne, & Kanavas Take on NASA 3-hour Enduro at MMP
John Smaak of Calgary, Canada teams up with Professional Drivers Byron Payne and Johnny Kanavas for The NASA “Nightmare on Sheep Lane” 3-hour Endurance race at Miller Motorsports Park this Saturday, October 26. The trio will be driving a Ford FR-500s Mustang on the 4-mile road course where both Kanavas and Payne work as driving instructors for the Ford Racing School.
Smaak joins the duo of Payne and Kanavas who were teammates during the 2012 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the 3-hour test of endurance. “Byron and I work very well together, drive similar, and have been friends for a long time.” comments Kanavas. ”This should be a great weekend of racing and we are excited to run the event with John [Smaak].”
Smaak, Payne, and Kanavas will campaign the #87 Ford Mustang under the Bullitt Racing banner. Testing begins Friday, October 25 with the green flag flying at 11:30am (MT). Live timing & scoring will be available via the Race Monitor app. – www.race-monitor.com
